TOP 5 BOOKS YOU NEED TO RE-READ ASAP!

Monday, April 02, 2018

I get it, it's hard to find time to read sometimes and with our TBR's forever growing on our desks it's impossible to pick up an old favourite and just read it for the sake of it.
But the thing is, you're missing out. Sometimes we read books because publishers send them our way or because we need to write that long review we have no idea how to. But how great it is to read a book because we want to? Because we relate to it, because we enjoy it and sometimes, you gotta pick those oldies from the shelf, give 'em a quick dust and read them because there's nothing better than diving in a world we already know and love.

Now, some books you re-read them because they're just SO GOOD, others because you basically forgot the whole plot and since the last one in the series is coming out soon, you gotta know all the events you don't remember anymore and you gotta do it real quick!
But sometimes it's a feeling, a season, the smell of the rain in the last days of summer or Christmas time that make you want to re-read them, either way, it's nice to come back to those places and meet those characters you already know to go on a crazy adventure in a weird forest.

THE OPPOSITE OF LONELINESS

is one of those books that have that special power to stay with you even when the book is finished. The powerful essays written in this little book of wonders, speak to your heart and you will want to mark every page, every line as your own. The tragedy that happened to Marina, the author, makes every single word matter while each of them clings to every cord of your heart, talking to you, screaming, pushing you beyond the boundaries of your mind, of your heart, of your body and making you want to live a life to the fullest, catching everything that it's thrown at you, taking every chance.

The middle of the universe is tonight, is here, and everything behind is a sunk coast.

-Marina Keegan, from the poem "Bygones"

Do you wanna leave soon? No, I want enough time to be in love with everything... And I cry because everything is so beautiful and so short.

-Marina Keegan, from the poem "Bygones"

THE RAVEN BOYS
or The Raven Cycle series is a magical, weird, absolutely amazing adventure into the unknown. Maggie Stiefvater has a way with words that it's hard to replicate, that is why every book she writes is just as good. I always find myself re-reading the whole series every year, in April when the adventure of Blue Sargent begins and every time is different. This series is one of those you just can't put down and you get so emotionally attached to the characters that you almost feel like you really know them, like they're real and not some fictional characters from a book. It's not a case if this is one of my absolute favourite series of all time!

"fate," Blue replied, glowering at her mother, "is a very weighty word to throw around before breakfast."

My words are unerring tools of destruction, and I've come unequipped with the ability to disarm them.

My girl, Cassandra Clare, knows how to make you fall in love with a character, cry for him and taking a knife right in the middle of your chest. I LOOOOVE Cassandra Clare, I love the world she writes, the characters, the badass females, the ordinary mundane and the out of this world warlock. I love it all. What I love most about her books is that they are endless, every year you can be sure there's going to be another Shadowhunter book and every year it's even more amazing. My favourite though is THE INFERNAL DEVICES trilogy, I'm still curled up in my bed, crying over Will Herondale, okay? But I love THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS just as much, I mean, City of Bones it the first Cassie Clare book I've read and it'll always have a place in my heart! But guys, I think Cassie is doing a really amazing job with THE DARK ARTIFICES, the way she incorporated new and different characters in these stories is just AMAZING! Hands down, the best books ever!

"One must always be careful of books," said Tessa,"and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us."

It's all right to love someone who doesn't love you back, as long as they're worth you loving them. As long as they deserve it.

HARRY POTTER

I think it's the safety net for everyone when it comes to re-reading the same book. I grew up with Harry Potter and I have memories attached to the books that will always make me a fan of the world, the story and the characters. The world of Harry Potter is the one you dive into whenever you feel nostalgic or you just love that old feeling of a Christmas tree lit up in the room, a cup of hot chocolate next to you while curled up in a blanket with a Harry Potter book which pages have definitely seen better days.

We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.

You know, being a writer is hard, like, really, really hard. Sometimes you need someone to tell you it's going to be alright, someone who gives you space and the benefit of the doubt. FANGIRL is exactly that, for me. Whenever I feel crap, whenever I feel uninspired, I always, always open this book and find something that immediately gives me that spark I was longing for. Plus, it's really cute and the main character writes fanfiction while suffering from anxiety, if that is not super mega #relatable I don't know what is!

I don't trust anybody. Not anybody. And the more I care about someone, the more sure I am they're going to get tired of me and take off.

And here you have it, all the books I think everyone should re-read at least once!
Have you already read any of these? If you had to pick up one book to read and re-read for the rest of your life, what would that be?
